Suzanne Coventon - Shareholder

Barry and Sue Coventon registered Pertrain as a business in 1981 after identifying a need for 'quality and meaningful training'. Initially as a husband and wife team, Sue has helped the company grow into the industry leader it is today. Pertrain remains a family-owned business with the goal of delivering the best training resources to our clients and providing a personal service. She holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Diploma in Quality Auditing.

Bryce Coventon - Managing Director

Bryce has been Pertrain's Managing Director since 2007 and a technical writer since 2003.  Bryce returned to the family business after 10 years as a professional trainer in the health and fitness industry.  With a B.Sc, MBA, several Certificate IV qualifications including TAE  and recently becoming a GAICD, Bryce certainly values ongoing professional development.  He puts this appreciation into action every day and is passionate about helping people achieve their goals.  

His professional mantra is: "I will become a corporate leader through my positive contributions toward the design and delivery of innovative training solutions that add value to industry and improve the quality of peoples lives - professionally and personally." 

Glen Coventon - Executive Director

Glen has been involved with Pertrain since 1991 and has focused his efforts in the graphic, multimedia, eLearning and R&D side of the business. Glen holds various qualifications, including Diploma in Digital Media, Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Research and Design eLearning Resources (TAADES503B), Develop and Evaluate eLearning Resources (TAADES504B) and Facilitate eLearning (TAADEL501B). Glen is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Lauren Coventon - Accounts

As a Coventon, business and training has always been part of Lauren’s life and she knew it was inevitable that she would join the family business. Lauren joined Pertrain in 1998. Lauren is the Accounts Manager, and also the resident ‘go to’ person for internal questions and information. Lauren has a Certificate IV in Business Administration, TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Diploma in Quality Auditing. She is currently doing a Bachelor of Business Degree, majoring in Psychology.

Adrian Abnett - Technical Writing

Following a 10 year Brisbane based technical role in telecommunications, Adrian relocated to the Sunshine Coast for both a sea and career change. He completed a BSc (Microbiology and Biotechnology) at the University of the Sunshine Coast and was employed as a tutor in the science faculty. Adrian also assisted fellow students to develop their research and assignment writing skills as a student services peer advisor.

Adrian holds a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has partially completed a Graduate Diploma of Education (Senior Years) through QUT. He holds qualifications in senior and advanced first aid and a Certificate of Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatch. Adrian joined Pertrain in 2007 as a training resource developer and client relationship manager.

David Coltheart - Technical Writing

As managing director and editor of an international magazine, David travelled widely and accepted numerous public speaking engagements before joining the company in 2007 as a technical writer. He has wide experience in preparing training manuals for mining, civil construction and power generation companies. Now a Project Manager, David ensures that training materials are prepared to the client’s specifications and also delivers on-site training to both managers and staff. He holds an MA in ancient history and archaeology, and a TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Antoinne-Marie (B) Duggin - Technical Writer and Operations Technician

Antoinne, or B as she prefers to be called, spent over 12 years in the RAAF as an Airframe and Engine Technician working on Macchi jets and F-18 Hornets. B spent 2 years instructing RAAF trainees in aircraft trade skills and basic aircraft maintenance, and working as an RPL assessor. She then spent two years instructing aircraft maintenance management at the National Aerospace Training Centre of Excellence.

B came to work at Pertrain after completing a Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology and Indonesian language majors) at the University of Southern Queensland. She has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently doing a Diploma of Management. B is responsible for training resource development, quality control and operations coordination at Pertrain.

Michael Johns - Print Manager

Michael has worked in scaffolding and formwork and moved up from labourer through to Mackay branch manager. He has studied varying subjects such as computer science, psychology, literature and history, web and print design and e-commerce. He has a degree in Computer-based Art and Design, a diploma in Photography and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In addition to running Pertrain's printing division Michael also works in web and print design, inductions and graphics.

Natasha Kingi - Graphic Designer

Natasha joined Pertrain in July 2008 as a layout/graphic designer. She has had 10 years experience in the printing industry. She holds a Diploma in desktop publishing and a Certificate IV in Business Administration.

Paul McCarthy - Technical Writing

Paul is the Manager for Equipment Manuals at Pertrain. He has worked in Australia and worldwide as a consulting geologist, technical advisor and board member for mining companies. He has worked with mining and civil construction companies to develop and plan training programs for entry level through to supervisory personnel. Paul holds an MSc and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Gerard (Gerry) McDonald - Graphic Designer

Gerry joined the Pertrain graphic design crew in 2011. With 13 years previous design experience in marketing, advertising, exhibitions and web design, both for national and international clientele, your work is in knowledgable hands. Gerry has an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia (Graphic and Web Design), Certificate IV in Small Business and a traineeship in Mechanical Engineering.

Michelle Murray-Cox - Technical Writing

Michelle is a writer through and through. She has a degree in journalism and public relations and is a published children's author. Prior to joining Pertrain in 2011, Michelle spent the past decade in local government as a corporate communications officer. Michelle has tutored students in Strategic Planning and Issues Management at the University of Southern Queensland, Fraser Coast Campus, and was a trainer at the Queensland School of Beauty. She has a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

Jason Taylor - Applications Development

Jason joined Pertrain in 2009 after nearly ten years as a Physiotherapist. He completed a Masters Degree in Information Technology in 2004 and has worked on a wide range of software development projects since.

Jennifer Wohlk - Graphic Designer

Jennifer has been part of the Pertrain team since 1995. She is an integral part of the graphics and production team where her expertise with manual design, graphic production and quality control is evidenced in the products produced under her direction.

Because of her long career at Pertrain she understands our client base and their needs.

Jennifer holds a TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Graduate Diploma in Digital Design. She is currently undertaking a Diploma in Professional Book Editing, Proofreading and Publishing.
